The Adrian Peterson rules are no longer in affect.
NFL.com is reporting that the Minnesota Viking defenders are now allowed to hit running back Adrian Peterson. Well they can thump above the waist now.
Peterson was finally hit at practice on Monday.
“There were times there was nowhere to go and he had to run into people, and he responded well,” coach Leslier Frazier said, via the St. Paul Pioneer Press. “That was good to see. There were some good, hard hits. Nothing to the ground, just guys thudding him.”
Reports are that he hasn’t experienced any knee swelling or setbacks.
Peterson is an absolute freak of nature, and I hope he can stay healthy.
Oh and Peterson has a message for defensive players.
“(Peterson) told (running backs coach) James Saxon, ‘You tell coach to tell those defensive players to buckle up.”
