I don’t think Tim Tebow is a very good quarterback, but I do think he is a good football player. It is just finding a role that suits him the best.

His quarterbacking skills are unorthodox, but he finds ways to win games even if they are ugly wins. Here is what Boomer Esiason had to say.

Boomer Esiason thinks the Jets are making a “major mistake” with Tim Tebow as the team’s backup quarterback.

I’m just telling you right now, I would (cut him), and I’ll tell you why I would,” Esiason said alongside “Boomer & Carton” radio partner Craig Carton. “It’s not in any way, shape or form — I think — benefiting this team.”

“All you have to do is watch him throw the ball,” said Esiason. “Just watch him.”

“You can say whatever you want about Tim Tebow,” said Esiason. “He played some of the worst football that any quarterback has ever played in the history of the game last year at times.”

Tebow is a bit of a mystery because at times he is god awful, but somehow has a winning record.   The truth be told if his name was Tim Johnson he wouldn’t be getting these opportunities, but I don’t begrudge him for taking them.

I don’t think the Jets should cut him, I do believe he brings some value to the team.  I don’t think your backup quarterback should be punt blocking, that lets me know he isn’t truly a quarterback, he is a football player who has some QB skills.  The Jets quarterback is Mark Sanchez, if Sanchez fails don’t expect Tebow to be able to turn water into wine.
