The Cowboys are going to treat Dez Bryant like a child.

He is a grown man, but has shown that he can’t make responsible decisions, so the Cowboys are going to make them for him. They tried something similar with Pacman Jones with mix results.  Pacman ended up fighting his security personnel.  Pacman adviser was also Dez Bryant’s adviser David Wells.  Wells seems to be more like an attention whore enabler than a good adviser, but I digress.

Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Dez Bryanthas agreed to strict guidelines from team officials regarding his conduct away from the field.

The guidelines Bryant agreed to took effect August 23 when the team returned to Dallas after three weeks of training camp in California, according to sources.

Sources say some of the rules Bryant must abide are as follows:

• A midnight curfew. If he’s going to miss curfew, team officials must know in advance

• No drinking alcohol

• He can’t attend any nightclubs or strip clubs

• He must attend counseling sessions twice a week

• A rotating three-man security team will leave one man with Bryant at all times

• Members of the security team will drive Bryant to practices, games and team functions

Bryant is getting special treatment because he is a talented player, but to be honest a grown man shouldn’t need a baby sitter.  This sounds more like criminal probation than helping a player get his life together.

If Bryant needs this much help to be a responsible individual what do you think is going to happen when the restrictions are lifted?

The only thing missing is Cowboys attaching an Ankle Bracelet to Bryant while taping his ankles.
