Lakers to Retire Shaquille O’Neal’s Number

Shaq had his most success seasons as a member of the Los Angeles Lakers, so it makes sense that they retire his number. Three time champ and three time Finals MVP, it is only fitting to have his jersey in the rafters.
The retired jerseys and statues in and around Staples Center will get some company next season.
The Los Angeles Lakers on Thursday announced the dates of three events next season to honor Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Jamaal Wilkes and Shaquille O’Neal.
Jamall Wilkes was a very good player, go find some old footage of him, mid range game was deadly.
Thankfully, Kareem can stop crying about not having a statute now.
