Last week I had the opportunity to attend The Live Fantasy Draft presented by NFL.com at the Best Buy Theater in New York City. The event featured four former NFL players; Warrick Dunn, Michael Irvin, Eddie George and Ahman Green. During a taping for NFL Network they addressed who they would pick on their fantasy football team, along with their predictions for this upcoming season.
Both Irvin and Dunn said they would draft Aaron Rodgers first for their Fantasy teams while George would choose Matt Stafford and Green chose Arian Foster of the Texans. They all made the point that Aaron Rodgers has very talented WRs to throw to.
According to the experts, the NFL has changed from a running back league to a quarterback league. However, when drafting a quarterback it is important to take his quality of receivers into consideration. When it comes to drafting rookie quarterbacks the experts say OTAs are critical and to look closely their preseason performance. Ahman Green said Luck has shown confidence through his patience and determination and RG3 has shown he has a lot of potential, but needs to develop a little more to feel comfortable in the pocket. Eddie George compared Russell Wilson to Drew Brees by saying he has the ability to do everything offensively.
After the show was finished taping event goers were invited to join a live draft via NFL.com. The fantasy football website is new, improved and easy to use even for beginning fantasy footballers. NFL.com is the only website to offer the feature of scores updated with video feed for all of your fantasy players. Check out NFL Network or NFL.com for all of your fantasy football needs!
