Montana QB Jordan Johnson Charged With Rape
There is are certain things that makes sense to suspend a player immediately for. If you are caught driving drunk, stealing or using drugs that is immediate factual information.
Rape is normally he said vs. she said.
Until all the evidence comes out no one knows the truth and even then it can be iffy. I wish these universities wouldn’t be so quick to dismiss players from the team.
Because there has been plenty of cases where the accusations simply aren’t true. If it is true the person will suffer a far greater punishment than not being able to play football.
University of Montana quarterback Jordan Johnson was charged with rape on Tuesday, becoming the second member of the team to face such charges amid investigations by U.S. authorities into the handling of sexual assault reports by school and local officials.
Jordan Johnson, 20, was formally charged with sexual intercourse without consent, Missoula County District Attorney Fred Van Valkenberg said in a written statement.
According to an affidavit filed by prosecutors, the charges stem from accusations by a fellow student, identified only as Jane Doe, that Johnson raped her in her bedroom on February 4.
“Jordan strongly maintains his innocence and looks forward to the opportunity to prove his innocence at trial, clear his name and return to pursuing his education,” Johnson’s attorney, David Paoli, said in a statement.
