Hopefully, this will encourage more trading.

So, more players can call their grandmothers like Vontae Davis.

CBSSports.com’s Jason La Canfora confirms that those changes will include moving the trade deadline from Week 6 of the NFL season to the Tuesday following Week 8 of the NFL season. This is highly beneficial for providing interest around NFL trades, because more teams will know where they stand following Week 8 than they do after Week 7.

The change to the injured reserve now allows teams to remove one player per season from the IR, subject to certain restrictions, per Adam Schefter of ESPN. Teams may remove one player who was placed on IR with a “major injury” after 4 p.m. ET on Tuesday, September 4.
