Mike Goodson of the Oakland Raiders suffered a neck injury after a helmet to helmet collision with teammate Phillip Wheeler. An ambulance and fire truck came afterwards and rushed Goodson to the hospital. On the field, he was said to lay prone for about 15 mins but did appear to move his arms and legs.
Raiders head coach, Dennis Allen, spoke with news saying Goodson suffered a neck injury.
“He did have feeling in his extremities, which is good news,” Allen added, according to CBSSports.com. “That’s hard when you see one of your teammate go down like that,”
Goodson arrived at the hospital and was told his CT scan and MRI were both negative.
Goodson also tweeted Tuesday night.
Wheeler reached out to Goodson as well.
“I texted him already and told him that I’m praying for him, that I’m sorry and I didn’t mean to do it,” Wheeler said. “I thought he was going to get up. I didn’t think he was that bad off until he said … that he couldn’t get up. That’s when I knew he was pretty bad. It was just a bang-bang play. I’m just going to pray for him. I didn’t mean to do it. I didn’t mean to hurt him.”
Goodson is expected to recover, no word has been said as to when he will return.
