Rob Gronkowski Is Frustrated With The Patriots Offense
We love to use the phrase pressure bust pipes, but when your star tight end just received a huge deal and your coming off another Super Bowl loss things can get pretty frustrating fast.
The New England Patriots are a frustrated bunch right now, and Rob Gronkowski is at the head of the pack.
The Boston Herald is reporting that coach Bill Belichick ripped into the team following their lackluster preseason loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
The star tight end who is usually gregarious is all about his football business right now and none to pleased.
“It’s definitely frustrating. We gotta take what we did wrong, we gotta take what we did right, and build off it,” Gronkowski said following Friday night’s loss. “We have to do our corrections. We have to go out and get our chemistry down as an offense in practice. That’s where it starts.”
‘‘We’re just not doing well as a whole. It’s everyone,” he said. “It starts with myself and goes around. You have to have the whole offense clicking as a whole. You gotta have blocking. You gotta have a run game in order to have a passing game. So we have to put it all together, and we just haven’t done that yet.
“We want to be on the up. But it’s also preseason now. We have another week. We’re going to take what we did and learn from it. We just need to get out there and get the chemistry going.”
I give him credit for understanding that with a huge deal come expectations and added leadership.
There is nothing wrong with what he is saying. Most offensive units would call a bad Patriots offensive night a work in progress.
This groups strives to be perfect, and their normally outgoing tight end won’t be so accommodating until that perfection is reached.
