Serena Williams Says She Was Just Doing a “Cali Dance”, But Was Inappropriate

One thing should be made clear, Serena had a lapse in judgment.

Doesn’t matter the intent any time you say or do anything that can be interpreted as gang related it is going to get noticed.

Nothing goes unnoticed in our society anymore. Serena from her quotes knew what she was doing.

“Actually, there is a name,” she said of the dance. “But I don’t know if I — it’s inappropriate. It’s just a dance we do in California.”

If she knew it was inappropriate then she shouldn’t have done and is partially to blame for the storm that has arisen.

My belief is she was just being silly in the heat of moment. We all do and say things we immediately regret, but not many of us have millions watching our every move.

That is why it is important to have some perspective on things. In retrospect, I am sure she wish should would have done the Shoulder Lean, but in the grand scheme of things it really isn’t that serious.

Serena isn’t in a gang and the crip walk unfortunately in most states is just something kids do and has nothing to do with gang affiliations.

Mainstream media will start reaching, but to be blunt it was just a err in judgment and that is all.

There’s nothing wrong with what Serena did.Stop hating on your people. Obama shouldn’t sing Al Green,Mandela should not of danced at his inauguation and etc.Just because it expresses our culture does not mean it’s wrong or bad.Remember they say Obama is a gang member or worst. You should change your perspective or call this KKK online.

Whether it was a Cripps dance or not is beside the point. Any dancing was disrespectful to her opponent and to the Olympic spirit of sportsmanship. The networks are always glad to display black athletes acting like fools and Serena played right into their hands. Why couldn’t she accept her victory with the dignity of an Arthur Ashe or Althea Gibson?

WHO CARES! She danced. So what. Hell if the Gold medal from the olympics was the last thing I didn’t accomplish i would be running all over that damn stadium! Way to go Serena!!!!
