Cowboys Looking to Extend Tony Romo’s Contract
Tony Romo isn’t a bad quarterback.
He never was, the question is can he become anything more than just a very good quarterback? Romo is going to get every dime of the $68 million contract he signed almost six years ago, but the Cowboys seems willing to hitch their wagon to Romo for the long term.
Werder, who has been covering the Cowboys in one form or another for two decades, reports Friday that the team has approached Romo to let him know that they would like to extend his contract. Per Werder, preliminary talks between the two sides have taken place although it doesn’t sound like we should be clearing our calenders for a press conference announcing a new deal anytime soon.
