I have to admit considering some of the things that are written in the comment section of most blogs and forums I am bit surprised that ESPN was able to pluck this particular one out of the blue.

There are tons of threats and inappropriate language on those forums, but this one was more disturbing than others.

According to NESN.com it started with a discussion about how Lebron’s new sneakers would retail at $270. At that time many of the comments were about how this could lead to violence and possibly murders, since that seems to happen every time a new exclusive sneaker is released.

The commenter stated he wouldn’t mind watching kids being killed and might actually execute a plot himself.

The police were notified and he is now being held on a $2 million bond after guns were found in his possession. He has been charged with planning terrorist attacks.

An ESPN spokesman had this to say.

“What he was posting had nothing to do with sports,” Soltys said. “We closely monitor the message boards and anytime we get a threat, we’re alerting law enforcement officials.”

Not surprisingly the suspect who is in his early to mid 20s lives with his parents.
