I don’t think people realize how much pressure Vick is under this year.
If Andy Reid gets fired he will be fine. He will have choice of head coaching or TV jobs, but Vick is a different story. He is trying to get to the back end of his $100 million contract and the only way that happens is if Reid is the coach.
If the Eagles fail, Vick is gone and he will never recoup that money. You can feel the sense of urgency in his quotes.
“Man, I ain’t got no ring on my finger. I ain’t got one. That’s it. I don’t know what else,” Vick said, via Reuben Frank of CSNPhilly.com. “I’ve been there. Playoffs is playoffs, you know? But that’s the road you’ve got to take to where you want to go. Like every quarterback, I want a championship. That’s it.”
Vick is not a young quarterback anymore. He will be turning 33 soon which was around the same age they started to push Donovan McNabb out of the NFL.
So, he needs to stay healthy and Eagles need to be prosper or this might be the last time we see Michael Vick as a starting QB in the NFL.
