Either Adidas is paying RGIII handsomely to be their spokesman or he loves Adidas that much and I dont know anyone who would cover up a Nike symbol unless they are getting paid.
The NFL however, isnt too happy with RGIII’s stunt. Seen warming up for the game against the Saints, RGIII decided that to make sure Adidas was happy and that no other brand was associated with him; he covered up the Nike symbol with the letter “H” to spell out heart. Regardless of how much Adidas is paying RGIII, he’s still an employee of the NFL and they were not too happy with his creativity.
Griffin won’t likely be fined because the shirt was only visible before pregame warmups, but NFL Spokesman Brian McCarthy told ESPN.com that league officials would talk to him.
“It won’t happen again,” McCarthy said.
NFL players are not allowed to cover up the logo’s on apparel. Im sure the NFL is well taken care of by Nike and will do anything to make sure that business deal is not tampered.
