Peyton Manning Struggles – I was one of the people that thought Peyton Manning was back to the 2010 Manning after his performance against the Steelers during the Opening Weekend. After last night’s performance against the Falcons, I’m not sure if his performance was an indictment against him or against the Steelers defense. Manning didn’t throw many tight spirals and showed a lack of velocity on many of his throws. Both of which caused the ball to sail and hang, especially on his interceptions. Manning hasn’t lost anything in the mental aspect of the game, but his physical may be forever changed after his neck surgery. Is THIS the Peyton Manning we should expect more of? Or is it just a case of a tired arm after a year off with limited throwing? Only time will tell.
Reggie Bush looks like an NFL Running Back – Seems like we have been waiting on this forever. Being in New Orleans for the beginning of his career, he seemed to be transforming into a slot receiver, given the Saints love of throwing the ball. In his 5 years as a Saint, he never rushed for more than 600 yards, and had more receiving yards than rushing yards in 3 of those 5 years. Since moving to Miami, he looks more like a traditional running back. Last Season, he reached 1,000 rushing yards for the first time and after two games, looks like he’s headed for back to back seasons. It looks as if he has changed his running style from finesse to power, and it looks to be paying off.
The Saints miss Sean Payton – The Saints sit at 0-2 and are looking up at everyone within the NFC South. Drew Brees looks unusually average, and the Saints follow his lead. It’s evident that Payton and his confidence and play calling are missed. I am very confident that they will be able to turn this season around, simply because Brees is way too good to allow them to not contend.
The Referees have to end their Lockout – No further explanation is needed.
