Some NBA teams are playing contract hardball with their talented yet unproven young players.

You can now add the Milwaukee Bucks and talented point guard Brandon Jennings to that list now.

The Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel is reporting that the Bucks will not extend Jennings rookie contract before Wednesdays deadline.

Jennings will become a restricted free agent in July, and the Bucks would have the right to match any offer he receives.

Jennings was the tenth overall selection in the 2009 NBA draft.

I think the Bucks will take a wait and see approach with Jennings for the time being.

Brandon Jennings is immensely talented, but definitely not worth a max deal, and Jennings has also openly commented about wanting to play in a larger market.

I see Brandon Jennings being a talented 19 plus points a game scorer who never really gets a team anywhere near a championship.
