Megatron accuses Eagles corner of Flopping | Robert Littal Presents BlackSportsOnline

Calvin Johnson claims Nnamdi Asomugha was Flopping

by Phillip Jackson | Posted on Saturday, October 20th, 2012

Calvin Johnson had another good game this past Sunday against the Philadelphia Eagles. After catching 6 balls for 135 yards and securing a win, one would think Megatron would be pleased.

However, one call still seems to be bothering him.

Late in the game, Johnson caught a pass in the end zone for what was thought to be his second touchdown of the season. An offensive pass interference call against him though nullified the touchdown. Apparently, Megatron feels the referee was duped.

Per the Detroit Free Press: Johnson was quoted as saying, “There was hardly any contact. I was just feeling where I was at. I went back and watched it on film and I was like, ‘Come on, ref.”

Johnson also added, “The crazy thing was, [the official] was looking at me and didn’t throw the flag until after the dude [Asomugha] said something. He would have been fined; that would have been a fine. I am glad the NBA is starting that rule. That used to tick me off about the NBA, too.”

Johnson is referring to the new anti-flopping rule in the NBA that will fine players the NBA feels was flopping in a particular game.

With only 1 touchdown through the first five games, perhaps Johnson is becoming slightly frustrated with his dip in production. No word on how Nnamdi feels about the claim yet, but we’ll see how Johnson responds this Monday night against the Bears.
