Dwayne Wade’s Surgically Repaired knee ahead of Schedule

Throughout last season’s playoffs, we heard numerous reports that Dwayne Wade was suffering from a left knee injury. While he was never willing to confirm nor deny the injury during the Heat’s run, his declining play began to make it clear that something was wrong with the superstar. While playoff averages of 22.8 points per game, 5.2 rebound per game, and 4.3 assists per game are certainly nothing to laugh at, they weren’t typical Wade numbers.

After a 2-13, five point performance against the Indiana Pacers in game 3 of the Eastern semi-finals numerous reports surfaced saying he had his left knee drained after the game. Subsequently, he dropped thirty points in the next game and looked to be a completely different player.

After the Finals had concluded Wade finally had surgery on his ailing left knee. Apparently, his recovery is ahead of schedule.

Per ESPN: Coach Eric Spoelstra was quoted as saying, ” He’s ahead of schedule and we want to keep him that way. We’re not trying to rush this or fast-track it. We want it to go at a healthy rate. Last week was very positive. He was able to go every single day and then play in both games. It was the most productive week he’s had. Today, he didn’t miss a turn in practice. He’s getting his timing back. Those are good signs.”

Teammate LeBron James added: ” It was good to see him get out there and play like he did, getting dunks, driving baseline and making spin moves, his patent moves. It’s good to see that already with him coming off knee surgery.”

With Wade already being 31, he is closer to the end of his career than the begging of it. It is good to hear he is recovery quickly and can hopefully stay healthy over the course of the full upcoming season.
