If I had a rookie quarterback pass for 182 yards and run for 138 yards with three touchdowns on my defense I might be slightly salty as well.
After being selected number two overall in the 2012 NFL Draft, expectations were through the roof for Griffin this season.
He put on an amazing performance this past Sunday, leading his Redskins to a win and snapping their 8 game home losing streak. You would think anybody playing and watching would be impressed by the young signal callers play. Apparently, not everyone is ready to anoint RGIII.
Per ComcastSportsNet: Jared Allen is not ready to crown RGIII anything yet.
He was quoted after Sunday’s game saying, “I’m not going to crown him anything yet. He had a good game. Hats off to him, he ran really well. But to be great in this league, you have to do it for years and years and years. So, I wish him all the best, except next time we play him.”
I actually agree wholeheartedly with Jared Allen. The timing of the statement just makes him sound slightly bitter. The sports world of today tends to overreact to every single thing and we have to remember we are only 6 games into RGIII rookie season.
