With 99% certainty we can be sure that Al Jefferson didn’t watch the ESPN 30 for 30: BROKE.

I understand wanting to sleep in comfort, but this is ridiculous. Not my money, so he can buy what he wants, but this is the type of excess spending is what caused many of the participants on BROKE to lose their fortunes.

So hopefully Jefferson is investing his money as well.

The only way this makes since is if Rosa Acosta was also in the bed.

Yeah well I guess him and the honey’s (or potential baby mamas) will have a good time rolling around on that big bed…

  2. D says:

For a man who’s a giant, isn’t this bed purchase a good buy? Far more useful than 23K in jewelry around his neck.

  3. Yogi says:

Let’s see, the man is 6’10” tall, or 82″. A standard king bed is 80 or 84 inches. I’m 5’11” and I hang off the end some nights in a king bed, so how freaking uncomfortable would it be if my entire calf were sticking out in the breezes?
$23,000 is less than one good gold chain, less than 1/2 a 2009 535i, less than 3 months mortgage on a $2 M home. Tell me again how this makes him profligate.

  4. Randy says:

Shoes, pillows, mattres and tires. 4 things you should never skimp on because you use them the most.

  5. TJ. says:

I have no problem with this. He makes a ton of money and he’s 6’10. Gotta be comfortable in your own home. He probably could have paid less, but I dont know the going rate on custom beds. Id be more upset if he started a record label or bought 5 cars…

  6. Jefe says:

Doesn’t it make more sense to spend 23k on a bed (where you spend nearly a third of your day) than half a million on a car??? Or on several half-million dollar cars? He makes 23k in like one-quarter of an NBA game for Heaven’s sake. Mr. Littal could ave chosen any of another thousand NBA player purchases to highlight than this one! C’MON

  7. Steve Broome says:

A nice bed is extremely important, and these cats are huge, so why not spend a lot on that? I don’t get the complaining, at least he’s not buying tigers.

  8. “The only way this makes since”? Seriously? I believe you meant to use the word “sense.” Far from surprising however, seeing as the website is blacksportsonline.com. Maybe you could change the domain name to weaintneedtospell.org.

  9. Doug says:

I know that NBA players often spen too much money on nonsense (with cars, entourage and mansions leading the way), but I think this is a good investment.
He is a huge man who probably needs a custom bed to be comfortable. Considering the amount of time he will spend in it (especially if it lasts 10+ years) and the fact that he makes his money with his body, more players should be investing in their beds. That and the fact that bed screams out this is where the threesome is at oh and you know I’m recording it.
