Jerry Jpnes always makes it clear that he feels his Dallas Cowboys are Super Bowl contenders. The Cowboys are 3-3 and right in the middle of the heated NFC East divisional race. With a big match-up this week against the rival New York Giants, you would typically expect Jerry to be his usual confident self.
After losing Linebacker Sean Lee for the season, it seems Jones might be backtracking a tad.
Per The Star-Telegram: Jones was quoted as saying, “Against this team, regarded by many and arguably the best team in the NFL, we wanted all hands on deck.”
Jones also remarked, “It is disappointing not to have two players of that caliber. I’ve said all along I think this team has an opportunity to be a contender but the one exception that I made was … sitting as we’re sitting right now health wise, injury can make a difference and does in the NFL. It’s been my experience when you do have a situation like this, others will step up. Others on the field at different positions will compensate.”
With the NFL being the violent game that it is, injuries are simply something that every team will have to deal with.
Next man up in Dallas.
