New York Jets running back Shonn Greene had literally been asleep over the first five games of the season averaging a paltry 40 yard rushing per game.

Conversation had started to creep up regarding the Jets releasing Greene, or possibly parting ways with him after this season.

Greene must have gotten the message because he woke up in a big way today against the banged up Indianapolis Colts, rushing for 161 yards on 32 carries and 3 touchdowns.

Greene who is in a contract year said after his huge game, “I’m not thinking about a new contract.”

When he was asked if he was hoping to get a new deal from the Jets, Greene’s answer was team related.

“I’m hoping to get a lot of wins this season.”

Here’s hoping he can keep up this production.
