Manny Pacquiao Signs Contract Extension With Top Rank | Robert Littal Presents BlackSportsOnline

Manny Pacquiao Re-signs With Top Rank; Mayweather Fight Even Less Likely Now

by Robert Littal | Posted on Saturday, October 13th, 2012

Pacquiao was signed to Top Rank until the end of 2013, but signed a contract extension through 2014 according to ESPN. Why is this important?

I can’t see any scenario that Floyd Mayweather puts money in Bob Arum’s pockets.

Both Pacquiao and Mayweather are getting older and slowing down, if the fight doesn’t happen in 2013 it is never going to happen.

Pacquiao already has a date lined up in early spring if he beats Juan Manuel Marquez on December 8th and Mayweather will probably fight early May.

Good for Pacquiao who got a $1 million signing bonus for extending his contract, but be prepared to see him fight a bunch of guys that the public has no interest in going forward.
