So many pundits and skeptics of Michael Vick refuse to believe that the Philadelphia Eagles quarterback has changed.

Vick at this point in his life is the poster boy for redemption and why so many people feel second chances are important.

We all know about Vick’s turnover problem and how that may affect his future with the Eagles.

Yesterday Vick wasn’t interested in worrying about those things as he drove his family to Virginia Beach to unwind.

The Washington Post via Delmarva.com is reporting that while driving through the tiny community of Berlin, Md., a tire on Vick’s Lexus went flat.

I guess Vick still has some luck left, because the tire went flat right across the street from John’s Auto Body.

Vick reportedly went into to get some help, and the owner John Derrickson says he knew who Vick was even if his employees didn’t.

“It was a high-dollar Lexus,” said John Derrickson, owner of the body shop. “I walked up to see what was going on and I said, ‘Do you know who this is?’ ”

“I knew right away.”

“I’m an Eagles fan.”

While trying to get the Lexus into John’s garage, the vehicle was blocking the driveway of Twisters Gymnastics, which is owned by Carmella Solito.

Ms. Solito was not pleased about her driveway being blocked until she found out who owned the vehicle of course.

“I said ‘Oh my God, what are you doing here?’ ”

Ms. Solito stated she wanted to make the most of the experience, so she invited Vick, his wife, and two young daughters inside the gymnasium.

Vick, she said, talk to the young athletes while she showed his daughters around the gym.

“He was very nice,” she said. “He told them if they worked hard, it would pay off.”

“He was great with the kids.”

“I felt kind of bad, there were about 100 kids here,” she said. “There were little ones just hanging off his leg.”

Both business owners had nothing but good things to say about Michael Vick.

“He said he would send me a jersey and some tickets,” Derrickson said. “He was so down to earth. It was a pretty neat experience.”

“It was such a cool experience,” Derrickson said.

Ah, the wonderful feeling of redemption.
