Broncos: 35
Chargers:24
Peyton Manning has gotten his elusive first road win since becoming a Denver Bronco, and he got it in dramatic fashion. The Broncos trailed the majority of the game, being down 24 points come half time against a red-hot Chargers team led by Philip Rivers.
The Chargers had a tale of two different halves. In the beginning the Chargers came out strong right from the gate with Rivers connecting to Antonio Gates with lightening precision (no pun intended). Peyton threw a pick to veteran Quentin Jammer who returned it for a touchdown, taking the Chargers to a commanding 17-0 lead. It didn’t take long before another Rivers to Antonio Gates connection, which gave the Chargers a 24-0 half time lead. All seemed to be going perfect for the Chargers.
After the half, the Broncos soon got their act together and in the 3rd quarter Peyton Manning got the Broncos on the board, followed by a series of on target passes which gave Denver all the momentum, solidified by a number of Rivers interceptions. Denver never looked back after taking the lead away and Peyton continued putting on show throwing for a total of 309 yards, completing 24 of 30 passes for the game. The Broncos accomplished the biggest comeback in Monday Night Football hero and in doing so reach .500 in the win column
