Spurs Stephen Jackson Wants A New Deal

San Antonio Spurs forward Stephen Jackson has a lot going on right now.

He has a new album, titled “Jack Of All Trades,” coming out October 30, and at age 34 is winding down a pretty solid NBA career.

The only thing sweeter according to Jackson would be a contract extension, and as Jackson told Spurs Nation recently, he deserves one.

“I want it, but I can’t control it,” Jackson said, toweling sweat off his face after Tuesday’s practice. “Every day when I walk in here I’m hoping they’ll call me in and say, ‘Jack, here’s your extension.’

“I think I deserve it, but at the end of the day I’m still happy to be here and all I can worry about is what I can control, and that’s my play.”

Spurs coach Greg Popovich stated last season that it wouldn’t happen, and with a loaded roster of wing players, Jackson is a bit expendable at this point.

Go get that album though.
