49ers:13
Seahawks: 6
Thursday Night’s game was a critical NFC West showdown between the mighty 49’ers reeling from the crushing defeat landed on them by the Giants on Sunday, and the surging Seahawks coming off a feel-good victory after beating the Patriots.
The game was a stagnant one, lacking in offense but kept you on the edge of your seat in anticipation all the way. The game was ruled by field goals, as neither team made it to the endzone in the first half. By the 3 quarter the Seahawks led 6-3 over the 49ers, but a 10 play drive by Alex Smith woke the 49ers offense up and Delanie Walker ran in for touchdown for the 9’ers who took a 10-6 lead.
The 49’ers defense on Russell Wilson is what deprived the Seahawks from doing much of anything for the rest of the game and a highly disputed safety which was later rescinded topped off a frustrating, but hard fought division game. The 49’ers sit atop the division with a 5-2 record, the Seahawks are a game over .500 with a 4-3 record.
