Thursday, Brandon Jacobs took to Twitter to give out a little workplace advice:

His next tweet read:

Naturally, given what most believe is a strained relationship between he and head Coach Jim Harbaugh, Jacobs followed up his tweets with a couple of others explaining what led to the advice:

The last tweet went on to say, “but when the budget is shot he is the first one get laid off, same the with 2 other people I know.”

I do believe his tweets were inspired by what he says happened to his brother, but I also think he relates to them personally as well.  After winning 2 Super Bowls with the NY Giants, Jacobs signed with the 49ers, only to not see ANY playing time this season.  What does Jacobs say when asked about his lack of playing time?

“I feel good. I’m coming out and working hard every day. I feel really good right now, man, and that’s about all I can elaborate on. I’ve been saying that for a while. It’s not about that. You guys have to talk to coach Harbaugh. He’ll tell you whatever you want to know. … It’s not about me.”

When Coach Harbaugh was asked in October about Jacobs’ lack of playing time his response:

“I think that’s all decided on the field. Brandon came here, in training camp was doing very well and got injured. Then he is working his way back. That’s a process that’s going on and simultaneously you have some guys who have played very well at that position. So I would say it’s a process.”

Interestingly enough, 49ers 2nd round draft pick LaMichael James, who has yet to see playing time this year either, retweeted Jacobs initial tweet about hating your boss.
