We are only 5 days into this year’s college basketball season, yet tonight hoops fans will get a treat when two of the most storied programs in college basketball history meet. The #3 ranked Kentucky Wildcats will take on the #9 ranked Duke Blue Devils this evening in the Georgia Dome.

Tonight will be the classic battle between youth and experience. The Wildcats will start 3 freshman while the Blue Devils will start 3 seniors, but don’t sleep these are not your ordinary freshman. They are a group that have been deemed the best class of incoming freshman by many college basketball analysts and all of them are McDonald’s All-Americans.

The Blue Devil team will have what a lot of college basketball coaches covet in these days of one-and-done college players, and that’s experience. Each of the 3 seniors Coach K will start have won a National Championship. They know how it feels to play in a game of this magnitude, against this level of talent and win.

Tonight’s game should be a good one. Kentucky Coach John Calipari has proven that he can win with a group of SUPER talented freshman, and Coach K, arguably the best that’s ever done it, doesn’t have to prove anything…his resume speaks for itself. Ultimately, this Kentucky team is extremely talented, but they are young and it is still VERY early in the season. The Duke Blue Devils have talent AND experience and ultimately I think that experience will help them win tonight’s game, but it won’t be easy.

Tonight’s game will air at 9:30pm EST. on ESPN.
