Justin Tuck: 6-4 Giants Are ‘Borderline Cocky’

Don’t tell me you expected the Giants to panic after two straight losses to the Steelers and Bengals cut their three-game NFC East division lead down to one.  Only the Eagles or the Cowboys would do something like that.  Instead, as Giants DE Justin Tuck told the New York Post, the Giants may be a little overconfident:

“I think we’ve always been very confident, sometimes maybe too confident,  borderline cocky,” Tuck said.

“We lost a little focus. I think everybody  on this team believes we can be the best team in the league when we’re playing  our style of football, it’s just unfortunate that we haven’t played our style of  football in the past couple weeks. We have to find a way to get back to playing  that.”

The Giants have starred in  “lukewarm regular season, red-hot playoff run” movies before.  In 2007 and 2011 when they won  Super Bowls, the Giants entered the postseason at 10-6 and 9-7 respectively.  Even though the Falcons, Bears, Packers, and 49ers all have better records, the Giants are correct to point out that they are the best in the league when they play their brand of football.  Besides, until someone beats the Giants in the playoffs, it’s like my man D’Angelo Barksdale said: “The King stay the King.”
