Thursday Kobe Bryant shrugged off any speculation that there is any friction between him and head coach Mike Brown. When shown the video of his death stare that has quickly gone viral, ESPN reported that Kobe “laughed incredulously,” and had this to say in response:
“I don’t give a (expletive) how it was interpreted,” Bryant said. “It doesn’t really matter to me. I’m too old to deal with that stuff. I really am. I’ve been (Brown’s) biggest supporter. So, I’m really too old to be dealing with childish things.”
Added Bryant: “God, people are bored.”
I know that the struggling Lakers have to put up a united front for the media and Kobe says he’s Brown’s “biggest supporter,” but a picture is worth a thousand words.
I’m guessing that the “quick glance” Lakers Executive Jim Buss spoke of may look something like this.
Bryant might think people are bored, but Kobe should know that we certainly aren’t dumb.
