Last night Jack Taylor, a sophomore basketball player at Grinnell College, set a new NCAA record when he scored a whopping 138 points in a single game. Taylor shot 52-108 from the field and shot 27-71 from three-point range, in the 178-104 defeat of Faith Baptist Bible College.
You can’t score 138 points in a game, and the basketball world not take notice. Here’s what Kobe Bryant had to say about the record.
“That’s crazy. I don’t care what level you’re at, you score 138 points it’s pretty insane,” Bryant said. “He must have been wearing the Mambas, man,” he said, referring to the shoes named after his “Black Mamba nickname. “Only Mambas have no conscience to shoot the ball that much.”
Well Kobe, you know a little something about scoring. What does it take to score 138 points in a game?
“You gotta be in shape,” he said. “And you gotta have a little Mamba blood in you.”
I wonder if Mamba Blood is similar to Tiger’s Blood.
