Athletes put a lot into their careers on the field, but most also put a lot into their communities off of it.
Chicago running back Matt Forte has served as a mentor for the Tilden Career School football team, and during a lunch which he sponsored for the team he surprised each member with a new laptop.
“Being from a privileged high school, we had computers and were able to use them,” Forte told Fox. “It’s only right that, if these kids don’t have that type of medium to use and stuff, that I give it back so they can use it.
“It will be good to see their faces again and let them know I’m not going to just come around one time and leave.”
It’s always important to highlight the positives these athletes do everyday, because contrary to what some may believe the good far out-weighs the bad.
