No need to complicating things.

Lakers will wait for Phil Jackson to make a decision, if he says no they will likely hire Mike D’Antoni, it is really as simple as that.  They will interview other candidates, but it is clear Jackson or D’Antoni are the leading candidates.

If you are wondering why D’Antoni, it has everything to do with his relationship with Steve Nash.

According to ESPN the race is “Neck and Neck” between D’Antoni and Jackson, I simply don’t believe that. It is Jackson’s job to turn down.

Sources within the Lakers are saying it will not be a long process meaning that we should have an answer sooner rather than later.
