The Philadelphia 76ers dropped a 120-98 decision to the Houston Rockets Thursday night, tying the NBA record for most consecutive losses at 26 held by the 2010-11 Cleveland Cavaliers. The Sixers rather dubious achievement also ties them for longest losing streaks in history amongst the four major American sports, so they’ve also got that going for them.
At this point it’s pretty obvious the 76ers are in serious tank mode, hoping to get a legitimate shot at a top 3 pick in the draft. Philly (15-57) can set the “record” on Saturday when they take on the Pistons (26-45) at home in a matchup so pathetic and unwatchable that I doubt it would even get a sniff on ESPN 8 “The Ocho” if such a thing existed.
