Trey Zeigler was one of the most sought after transfers last off-season after his Father was fired as Head Coach at Central Michigan. Zeigler was supposed to add an immediate scoring punch to Pittsburgh’s back court, but instead he hasn’t meshed with the system or the coaching staff.
Ziegler didn’t help his cause Sunday night when he was stopped by police and cited with two counts of DUI.
Moriah Balingit of the Pittsburgh Post Gazette was the first to break this story:
Pittsburgh police have filed driving under the influence charges against University of Pittsburgh basketball player Trey Zeigler stemming from an incident Sunday.
Online court records show Mr. Zeigler, whose legal name is Ernest F. Zeigler III, will be charged by mail summons with two misdemeanor counts of driving under the influence. Details of the arrest were not immediately available.
Ziegler has yet to be punished by the Pittsburgh coaching staff but his future at the University is definitely in question.
