The New York Knicks are 10-4 and enjoying quite a bit of success and scoring in this early part of the season.
The big question for the Knicks boils around what happens when Amar’e Stoudemire returns and how will he effect the chemistry of the team.
Many a pundit questioned whether or not Stoudemire and Melo could play together, and if he could remain in New York.
Well according to reports via ESPN New York, Stoudemire is prepared to be a team player, and do whatever is best for the team, even if that means being a sixth man.
A source close to Stoudemire and the team says his head is in the right place.
“All he cares about right now is helping the team and winning.”
“He’d be fine with coming off the bench if that’s what they want.”
Coach Mike Woodson declined to speculate Amar’e at this time.
“I’m going to address that when we get to that point,” Woodson said last week. “Right now, I’m just taking it a day at a time and work the guys we have in uniform.”
My guess is that if STAT really wants an opportunity at a ring, he will embrace being a sixth man, a difference maker, while also understanding the lack of wear and tear on his knees will extend his career.
