In the new world of social media public pressure can make organizations make moves that they normally wouldn’t make. 10 years ago if the Lakers got off to a 1-4 start, there would be concerned but not full-blown panic.
Now, with so many media outlets, blogs, fans and social media the heat is on Mike Brown. Fairly or not, if things don’t change quickly he will be the sacrificial lamb.
According to ESPN Mark Stein who isn’t known for hyperbole like some of the other ESPN NBA reporters, Brown and the Lakers have to have a strong six game homestand or his job will be in jeopardy.
I think 4-2 would settle people down a bit, but if he goes 1-5 or 0-6, then the Lakers might not have a choice but to bring someone else in.
The play Golden State tonight, so let the Mike Brown watch begin.
