Houston Rockets rookie forward Royce White is a talented yet complex young man.
White is at a crossroads where so many are supporting and rooting for him, yet those same people are having a hard time understand his actions.
As we all know, White is suffers from Anxiety Disorder, a disease that affects everything from his way of travel, to how he deals with everyday life.
White missed a good part of training camp because of his issue, and has gone back and forth with the Rockets regarding it.
White is still not with the Houston Rockets or they D-League affiliate, Rio Grande.
Pro Basketball Talk is reporting that White took to twitter again yesterday to attack Yahoo Sports, and NBA reporter Adrian Wojnarowski in an epic 30 tweet rant, that was based on an article Wojnarowkski wrote last week documenting how White’s battle with the Rockets, could derail his NBA career.
White feels he is simply trying to get fair treatment from his employer as he deal with his disorder, but many feel he is being so difficult, he may run himself out the league.
Wojnarowski simply reiterated that in his article, and I guess White was not pleased.
@Highway_30:@WojYahooNBA Lol… So how good you are should determine if you get the proper support for a medical condition? Baffling!
@WojYahooNBA Things in the article aren’t true, and they were REPRESENTED as fact, not even a source to back them up! Where do they do that?
Truth is there’s no CONSISTENT acknowledgement or protocol in place addressing #mentalillness, and that has/is creating unsafe workplace
#AnxietyTroopers They’ll say I’m “lashing out” now, but when truth surfaces, watch their current change!#Truth has no weakness!“but they haven’t found him deserving of playing time. So, White started to lash out.”
@WojYahooNBA False! If confronting journalists that are telling 1/4 truths is not right, SO WHAT!
@WojYahooNBA wrote things that weren’t true, I’m on his heels.Idc how good
@WojYahooNBA is supposed to as a journalist, if something is baseless and not factual, I’m calling it out, bottom line!
I can’t speak for Royce White because I don’t know him and can’t walk in his shoes.
I can speak for having some experience with mental health issues due to family members and certain things I’ll digress from getting deeply into.
What I can say is that regardless of how White feels, he’s in no position to use his illness/anxiety as a crutch.
Royce White has anxiety issues yes, Royce White will not receive special treatment for those issue, nor should he want to.
If Royce White truly wants to speak for the people with no voice who are experiencing similar difficulties with life, then he should stop with the twitter rants and insults, and calmly and professionally go about changing stereotypes and perceptions about those with anxiety disorders.
Only then will people truly understand and respect his plight.
