The Twitter thugs have struck again and caused a good guy to regret partaking in the social media experience.  San Francisco 49ers kicker David Akers has had a rough year making 25 of his 35 attempts, and missing some key field goals for the Niners.

It’s still no excuse for fans to be disrespectful on social media, but that’s exactly what happened according to the New York Post.

The struggling Akers received and retweeted a tweet from “@RIP_FreeLaddin”.

“YOU F—-OT IF YOU MISS ONE MORE FIELD GOAL YOU ABOUT TO GET YOUR ENTIRE LIFE ENDED”

Akers set an NFL record for total field goals made with 44 last season.   Akers is currently leading the Pro Bowl fan ballot.
