Ten years ago Allen Iverson was arguably the most popular player in the NBA. His jersey sales and sneakers out sold players like Kobe Bryant, Kevin Garnett, and Tim Duncan. Today, Iverson is barely hanging on to his 4.5 million dollar Atlanta mansion.
Iverson hasn’t played in the NBA since 2010 and his celebrity has fallen greatly since his days as the Sixers’ franchise player.
The mansion was bought in 2010 and is the most recent in a laundry list of debt Iverson had accumulated since exiting the league. Iverson is also fighting a 1 million dollar debt to a jeweler in Atlanta and a messy public divorce.
Iverson is just one of the many ex-NBA stars to leave the league and fall on hard times. He has until December 4th to come up with the remaining money on his loan for the mansion or it will be sold at auction on that day. So, If you happen to have an extra million or so dollars laying around there may soon be a nice property available at a bargain price.
