New York Jets quarterback Greg McElroy came down with a mysterious concussion while lifting weights yesterday. Jets head coach Rex Ryan had no choice but to insert Mark Sanchez into the starting lineup for the season finale.
The Jets opponent in the finale is all but elated to see that Sanchez is starting. According to Pro Football Talk via the Buffalo Bills official website, linebacker Bryan Scott thinks facing Sanchez “allows for an easier day.”
“It makes it a little easier because there’s a lot more film on Mark Sanchez than there is on McElroy. I don’t think they’re going to change too much offensively than they would have with Tebow. We’re still going to prepare for Tebow in case we see him some with the option type stuff,” Scott said, via the team’s website. “We’ve played against Sanchez multiple time so we’re all a bit more knowledgeable about his game and what he’ll likely do out there in certain situations.”
What Scott really meant to say was that Sanchez is terrible, a shell of himself, and will make the same one read throws he’s made all season.
Yea that sounds better.
