Indianapolis head coach Chuck Pagano has officially finished chemotherapy and is eyeing a return to the sideline this season.
Pagano has missed most of the season after being diagnosed with Leukemia Interim coach Bruce Arian has done an amazing job with the team, who currently sit at 8-4 and squarely in the playoff picture.
Pagano’s doctor recently came out and told the Indianapolis Star that depending on how Pagano feels, he could return to coach the team against the Texans December 30th.
“I’m fully supportive and I have my fingers crossed that he’ll be there on the sideline if that’s where he wants to be,” Dr. Larry Cripe said.
“He’s received all of the chemotherapy he was to receive. Now it’s just a matter of over the next couple of weeks recovering back to health. He can start conditioning and moving towards what he wants to do, which is return to coaching.”
Pagano’s return to the sideline would be a significant moral boost for a squad that has turned heads this season.
Football aside though, I’m just happy that Pagano is winning his fight against the disease. I look forward to his eventually return to football.
