Derek Fisher a day after signing with the Dallas Mavericks started in his first game with the team agaisnt the Detroit Pistons.

Fisher, who played last season with the Lakers and Thunder was looking to hop on with a contender in hopes of acquiring his 6th championship ring.

Fisher brings some veteran leadership to a team already filled experience. What the Mavs really need is a guard who can compete with the younger quicker guards in the league. Fisher will give the ability to stretch the floor with his 3 point shot. However, he’ll be a liability on the defensive end against the Westbrooks and Rondos of the league.

With Dirk coming back, he should be fresh and able to carry them, but how much assistance can his supporting cast give him will determine how far the Mavs will go. One thing I can be sure is, old man Fisher is the man too lokf for if yiu need a shot woth .4 seconds left on the clock.
