The way I see it, as a defense if you don’t like something you should stop it.
This past Sunday the New England Patriots were attempting to kill the clock on a 16 play drive. A drive, that included 13 run plays. Some of those runs just happened to be the same play. The Dolphins weren’t able to stop it.
And apparently didn’t like it either.
“It really [ticked] me off,” defensive tackle Tony McDaniel said, via Brian Briggane of the Palm Beach Post. “It was disrespectful to us to run the same play over and over and be successful.
“Normally when somebody’s driving down the field you just think, ‘Well, they just had a good run there,’ but you run the same play over and over, as a competitor that [ticks] me off.”
From a competitors point of view, I certainly understand McDaniel’s premise. But if you were that upset, you should have stopped it.
The Dolphins were unable to, and are subsequently complaining today.
