Drew Pearson Says Cowboys Must Knock RG3 Around And Send Message
The NFL playoffs officially start on Sunday night with season finale between the Redskins and Cowboys. Win and you’re in, lose and you can go home.
Robert Griffin III had his way with the Cowboys a few weeks ago, and someone very familiar with the rivalry says Dallas needs to let him know it won’t be a cakewalk.
Drew Pearson has been apart of a few big Cowboys vs Redskins games, and according to the Dallas Morning News, he told KESN-FM that his former team needs to “knock RG3 around, and make their presence felt even if it cost a penalty.”
“We need to let him know that it’s not going to be that easy or we’re not going to lay down for them and we’re not intimidated by him,” Pearson said, via the Dallas Morning News. “The way you do that is you go out on that field and you knock him around. Even if it costs you a 15-yard penalty, and I’m only saying this if it’s not a critical situation or anything.”
“Sometimes you have to deliver that kind of blow and that kind of message to let him know it’s going to be like this all day and not a walk in the park,” Pearson said. “We need to establish this with RG3 and the Redskins as well.”
I agree with Pearson, you don’t want to try to hurt Griffin III or be malicious, but a defense that is already banged up cannot let him dictate to them what he wants to do.
