Kobe Bryant joined the exclusive 30,000 point club last game against the Hornets, an incredible accomplishment. Such a great accomplishment, that it has sparked many debates as to where Kobe officially ranks now among the games all-time greats.
With the Lakers in town to play the Oklahoma City Thunder tonight, Kevin Durant was asked where he thinks Kobe fits among the legends of the game.
Per the Oklahoman: “I didn’t really get to see a lot of Jordan in his prime,” Durant said who then took a playful shot at Bryant.
“Kobe, I know he’s an old fart.”
Durant then took on a more serious take on Kobe’s career.
“Since I was about 8 years old, I’ve watched him, dominate. Every year he’s been in the league, he’s been a joy to watch and it was just an honor and a blessing to play on his team this summer in the Olympics. To get 30,000 points, man. . .it’s just an unbelievable accomplishment.”
As you should, I’ll be glued to my screen tonight to see the Lakers take on the Thunder. Should be a great match-up.
