Kobe “Bean” Bryant has surpassed the 30,000 point mark in the NBA and has joined some fabled company.  Only five people have reached the 30,000 point plateau, and 4 of them wore a Lakers uniform.

There are many hot bed debates you can have, but to sit down and have a debate about the greatest L.A. Laker of all time, well that could take a few days.

One of the greatest Lakers of all time and Mr NBA logo himself Jerry West has chimed into the argument of course, and according to USA Today, Kobe Bryant is without a doubt the greatest Laker of all time.

“What he has accomplished with this team, I don’t think there’s any question in my mind at this point in time – because of him being with this team for his whole career – that he has been the greatest Laker player,” West – who earned 14 All-Star berths, one championship, one MVP and made nine Finals appearances – told USA TODAY Sports by phone on Thursday. “I do think he’s the greatest Laker player we’ve ever seen.”

“He has an incredible desire to win and excel, and his work ethic and his skill level are what places him among the truly great, great players we’ve ever had in this league.”

High praise from one of the all time greats, and come on admit it Jerry, labeling Kobe the greatest Laker of all time on add credence to the fact that you drafted him right?

Technically,West didn’t draft him; he traded for him. A minor, but important distinction.
