My how times and people’s perception of you can change. Two summers ago LeBron James was a villain and the most hated man in America possibly after choosing the Miami Heat over the hometown Cleveland Cavs.
James went through his growing pains and a loss in the finals, worked on his game, redeemed himself and won his own NBA title finally.
James won and Olympic medal this summer, and Wednesday accepted the award for Sports Illustrated’s Sportsman of The Year.
During that ceremony, James revealed to SI’s Richard Deitsch, that he has a Photoshopped picture of him holding the ball while Michael Jordan (in his prime) guards him. James explained the photo.
“Jordan was my superhero growing up,” James said, per Deitsch. “He was the guy I feel helped me get to where I am today. As a competitor, who would not want to go against the best? That’s like asking [Tom] Brady would he want to go against Montana in the fourth quarter.”
James has ring protection now, so I really can’t complain.
I can’t lie though, the picture is hot.
