After being kicked in the groin by Detroit Lions defensive tackle Ndamukong Suh, Texans quarterback Matt Schuab was understandably upset. Even going so far to say that Suh wasn’t Texans worthy, and that’s not what Texans are about.
Apparently, Lions defensive coordinator Gunther Cunningham took exception to Shaub’s comments.
“What is a Texan, anyhow?” he said, according to the Detroit Free Press.
“You never make derogatory statements about another player and another team,” Cunningham said. “If you say that, then say it behind closed doors and keep it that way. But you don’t come out in the paper and start saying things like that.”
“And, you know, I’m sure Matt’s a great guy and he got caught up in the emotions. And I’ll forgive him for it — this time.
Obviously this is just a coach sticking up for his player.
At this point, I wish both sides would just move on at this point though.
